It is light and simple to prepare.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ingredients:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>200 ml olive oil<\/li>\n<li>300g sugar<\/li>\n<li>4 eggs<\/li>\n<li>300g plain flour<\/li>\n<li>1 bag (15g) of cake baking yeast<\/li>\n<li>2 oranges<\/li>\n<li>1 lemon<\/li>\n<li>splash of amaretto liqueur<\/li>\n<li>packet of amaretto biscuits<\/li>\n<li>5 apples<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Preparation:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Crush the amaretto biscuits.<\/li>\n<li>Chop finely the orange and lemon rind.<\/li>\n<li>Squeeze the juice of both fruits.<\/li>\n<li>Whisk the egg yolks with the sugar until fluffy. Add the olive oil.<\/li>\n<li>Add the rind and juice of the citrus fruits.<\/li>\n<li>Add the amaretto liquor, the sieved flour and the yeast.<\/li>\n<li>In a separate bowl whisk the egg whites (with a pinch of salt) to a peak.<\/li>\n<li>Fold the whites gently into the cake mixture.<\/li>\n<li>Peel and slice the apples.<\/li>\n<li>Pure the cake mixture into a lined cake tin, cover with the apple slices and a thin layer of chopped amaretto biscuits.<\/li>\n<li>Cook in a pre heated oven for 10 mins at 200c then for about 50 mins at 180\u00b0C.<\/li>\n<li>Before serving cover with icing sugar.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This apple cake is perfect for breakfast or for afternoon tea.
